National Account Executive

About the Role:
At Grouper, the National Account Executive will be assigned key health insurance plans and customers (national and regional) with a focus on the Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplement membership, and serve as a link between Grouper and the
customer or the account. The National Account Executive will play a key role in creating the strategic retention and growth plan for existing and new payer customers with the goal of serving, renewing and expanding to new accounts. The Account Executive will stay in close communication with the payer to listen to their needs to figure out ways to achieve their objectives. The Account Executive will develop and maintain existing client business relationships to increase the adoption of benefit coverage for the near term goal of 2026. The Account Executive will also cross sell and expand opportunities to existing clients where possible.

The Account Executive will partner with the Payer relations leads and product team at the assigned Payer to monitor performance against key critical success factors. The Account Executive may be asked to negotiate new terms when necessary and provide progress reports to Payers and to senior leadership team. The Account Executive will stay close to trends, changes, and actions by competitors that could impact their clients.

Account Management
● Develop strong relationships with targeted payers (national and regional) and build a working knowledge of their key processes in the Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplement benefits book of business.
● Partner with internal teammates and senior leadership for the development and execution of payer coverage, pricing, and contracting strategies in order to secure 2026 benefits coverage.
● Develop a payer deals tracking tool to capture and regularly update key Payer data points and payer sales funnel such as key payer contacts, payer metrics, communication touchpoint, probability of deals, etc
● Facilitate the lifecycle of the customer relationship from RFP to renewal, including new customer implementations
● Monitor payer RFP status for targeted payers and key payer relations team priorities.
● Effectively leverage and communicate company and product updates to payers in order to demonstrate the value of Grouper to payers in order to influence payer coverage policies and contracting decision-makers.
● Develop a communication plan to Payers that best represents the value of
Grouper to the Payer (clearly articulate and demonstrate the value proposition).
● Plans, organizes and carries-out presentations and group events for Payer team and Leadership team.

Payer Contracting
● Maintain a contract repository database with accurate record keeping of contract documents, correspondence, etc.
● Assists with contract reporting or payer analysis for the internal Operations Team and external customers
● Maintain payer contract files necessary for contracting and contract renewal purposes
● Build and maintain contract rate updates, fee schedule updates, CMS Medicare and State specific fee schedule changes
● Reviews contracts, addendums and amendments for completeness and appropriate approval prior to signature
● Other assigned duties as required
● Maintain accurate record keeping of application documents, certifications, recertifications, accreditations, licenses, etc.
● Up to 50% travel

Professional Background and Experience Requirements
Our preferred candidate will have many of the following attributes, skills, and experiences:

● Experience working for a large national Payer or a healthcare company on the Market Access team.
● Experience with healthcare reimbursement/contracting
● Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent, required.
● Knowledge of Marketing and Sales concepts, required.
● Minimum of 3-5 years of progressively related healthcare experience including experience with products, services, operations, customer service, marketing and sales techniques.
● Strong verbal and written communication skills, required.
● Payer (Medicare Advantage) or healthcare industry experience preferred.
● Combined Sales & Account management experience preferred.
