What’s changing for you in 2025?

Group activities don’t just bring joy – they improve health and foster connection. Starting in 2025, to help cover the costs of your group activities, your offering will change to:

  • $20 payments for every three months you’re active with any of your groups 
  • A $50 annual payment sent to you when you remain eligible and active

By the end of this month, we’ll be enhancing your online experience with a brand-new, easy-to-navigate Grouper dashboard!  With this new look and feel, you can:

  • Easily report your monthly group activity on your schedule—no more waiting or needing our reminder emails
  • Quickly access your account to update your address, manage account details and see your reported group activity

In 2025 Here’s how the benefit will work for eligible Groupie’s:

  • Stay active with any of your groups and report your activity each month using your online dashboard
  • Receive $20 payments for every three months you’re active (we’ll honor any months reported that were after your enrollment date with Grouper, going back to June 2024)
  • In 2025, once you reach your prior year’s payment anniversary date, you will receive your $50 annual payment

I have already enrolled and received my 2024 payment, what do I need to do?

That’s great! We are here to continue to support your group activities. After December 18th, log in to your account using this link: https://app.hellogrouper.com/login. You will be treated to a new and enhanced online experience where you can confirm your address, report your group activity, and get access to new features coming soon in January 2025. Then:

  • Stay active with any of your groups and report your activity each month using your online dashboard
  • Receive $20 payments for every three months you’re active with your group (we’ll honor any months reported that were after your enrollment date with Grouper, going back to June 2024)
  • In 2025, once you reach your prior year’s payment anniversary date, you will receive your $50 annual payment

Anyone who received a payment that was less than $50 in 2024 will receive a payment for the difference via check by March 2025.

I have already enrolled and am eligible, but haven’t finished requesting my payment, what do I need to do? 

After December 18th, please log in to your account using this link and verify all your information: https://app.hellogrouper.com/login. This will be a new and enhanced online experience where you can confirm your address, activity information, and other details.

  • Once you’ve updated your information and we’ve confirmed you’re still eligible and active, you can expect to receive your first annual payment of $50 within 45 days.
  • Stay active with any of your groups and report your activity each month using your online dashboard
  • Receive $20 payments for every three months you’re active (we’ll honor any months reported that were after your enrollment date with Grouper, going back to June 2024)

Overall, this means starting in 2025 you will receive our refined offering which includes a $50 annual payment and an ongoing $20 payment for every three months you’re active.

What happened to my previous activity tracker?

We’ve enhanced the activity tracker by making it simpler and more user-friendly. The updated version provides a smoother experience for reporting your group activity and tracking progress toward your $20 ongoing payments.

What happens to any Grouper virtual classes I participate in?

Once migrated to your new dashboard, you’ll lose access to the virtual classes that were offered in 2024. We will keep you updated on the new online experience as more information becomes available in 2025.

How It Works:

Grouper partners with health plans that offer their members group activity benefits. We help you connect to group activities that match your passions. As you stay socially active and participate in qualifying in-person activities with your group, we work with your health plan to cover the participation costs and make other benefits available to you related to your group activity.

The Gym Isn’t For Everyone…

For decades, health plans have offered gym memberships as a fitness benefit designed to keep their eligible members healthy. That’s fine for some people. Some, but not most. Data from health plans has shown that group activities are 10 times more popular than gym memberships. And an ever-growing body of medical and clinical evidence confirms the health benefits of being part of a group activity.

What’s the Catch?  

There is no catch! Grouper recognizes what medical and social research have now well documented: building and maintaining social connections become more difficult as we age. We believe that group activities are an important part of the solution, and we are committed to bringing people together and strengthening social connections. Simply put, group activities lead to longer and healthier lives. By partnering with health plans that share our values, Grouper helps eligible members access and make the most of their health plans’ activity benefits available through their health insurance plans.  

How Do I Know If I am Eligible?

It’s easy! Simply sign up on our website. We check your eligibility with your health plan and will notify you of your status. Eligible? Great! Get started right away. Not eligible? That’s OK. Check back in with us again soon. The number of health plan partners we work with is continuously expanding.

What Information Do I Need to Share to Check Eligibility?

  • Basic contact information (Name, Phone, Email, Zip Code)
  • In some cases, we might ask for your membership number if you are already part of a group or club

How Do We Cover Your Membership? 

Sign up and provide your health plan information so we can check your eligibility. Once your eligibility is confirmed, Grouper will send you an annual payment of $50. Also, for every three months of activity after that, we will send $20, if you keep us updated on your in-person group activity!

What Types of Activities Are Available?

We know that activities with meaningful social connections – from archery and quilting to pickleball and Zumba – can help keep us physically and mentally fit. Our network of clubs, associations, and groups offer a wide variety of activities to fit your passion. In a group already? Tell us about it, and we will explore how to include your group in our expansive network.  

How long does it take to receive payment?

You can generally expect to receive a check via mail within 45 days.

How Do I Confirm that I Actively Participate in a Group?  

Confirming your activity is important and simple. Each month, we will remind you to log onto your account and tell us about your ongoing in-person participation. Participating in group activities may include things like being part of group events and tournaments, attending member meetings and/or gatherings, and even joining informal social get-togethers and similar group activities with members of your group.

What if I Don’t Report Any Activities?

If you do not report qualifying in-person activity but request payment, we will contact you to confirm your continued activity. Reporting activity is important for you to receive ongoing benefits. 

Is My Privacy Protected?

Yes. Your information is not sold. We only share your information as explained in our Member Terms of Service, as well as our Privacy Policy.

Is Grouper an Insurance Company?

No. We are not a health insurance company, and we do not sell health insurance to members. We partner with health plans that offer activity benefits to their members and encourage healthy and meaningful connections to members like you through group activities.

Will my Grouper payments come out of my Ucard rewards?

No. This is a separate payment available to eligible members of qualifying Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplement plans.

How often do I receive a $50 payment? 

A member is eligible to receive this payment annually on the anniversary of the last initial payment provided that the member has accrued 9 months of activity in the prior 12 months. If 9 months have not been achieved, the member will become eligible for the payment as soon as the 9th active month is achieved.
